Reflexive  Pronouns


we add  
-self
 to 
my   your   him   her   it 
and 
-selves 
to
our   your   them   we 
to make compound personal pronouns
myself
your self
him self
herself
 it self
and also 
our selves  
your selves 
 them selves

They are called reflexive pronouns when the action done by the subject turns back and reflects upon the subject.

Look at the following examples
I cut myself.


He washes himself.



She spoke to herself.


It bites itself.

we use
reflexive pronouns 
when the subject and the object are the same


The teacher introduced herself


subject                         object


so each of these pronouns are used

as the object of a sentence






Mala hurts herself.



The feeble man  couldn't lift himself



John and Beth blamed themselves for the accident.



This refrigerator defrosts itself.




Reflexive pronouns are also used after

 verb +  preposition

Peter spoke to himself.

Look after yourself.

I’m annoyed with myself.


She addressed the envelop to herself.
