Tense
When we
want to speak about an action
which will be progressing at a certain time in future we use Future Continuous Tense
Let’s join Kurulu again to discus
Future Continuous Tense.
Kurulu lives in a beautiful village. This village is situated near the
beach. Therefore she goes to this beach every
weekend. She will be there next week end
too. When she is going there next Sunday
she will not be going there alone. She will be visiting the beach with her family. When
she is at the beach the sun will be shining brightly
in the sky. They all will be enjoying at the beach if it will be a sunny day. Vihanga, her elder brother will be flying kites. He will
be enjoying it very much. His little brother Pavan will be riding a pony. Her father will be walking beside him. Will Pavan be happy?
Yes. Pavan will be enjoying the ride happily.
Her friends will be joining them in that
visit as usual. Her friends Smanali and Sepalika will
be building sand castles. Those castles will
be very beautiful. Kokila and Pavan will be
playing with a ball. Kokila will be throwing
the ball and Pavan will be catching it. Sandaras will be collecting sea shells. After building
sand castles Samanali and Seplaika will be bathing in
the sea. What will Kurulu be doing when she will
be at the beach? Will she be swimming in the sea? No, Kurulu will be sitting and watching
the rolling waves in the sea. After that she will
be collecting seashells on the beach. They will
not be idling a single moment. Their mother will
be sitting on a rock. Her mother will not be
doing anything as usual. She will be
watching them at play. An ice-cream seller will
be selling ice cream. He will be selling different
kinds of ice-cream. A Kadala vendor also will be selling
Kadala. Where will the kadala vendor
be? He will be under a tree. Children will be running to buy ice-cream and kadala. They
all will be going back home when the sun set. That Sunday will not
be a dull day. It will be an
enjoyable day.
The above paragraph expresses certain actions
which will be continuing at a particular time in the future.
When we want to speak about something that will
be continuing at a certain time in future we use Future Continuous Tense.
The Future Continuous Tense
usually expresses
an
action which will be in progress
at a particular time
in future
