Passive Voice

Look at the following sentences

These sentences tell us about what happened before Kokila  went  to his job interview

He had been told about the particular vacancy by his uncle.

This advertisement had been seen by her father.

Hardworking and talented young people had been invited by them.

An A pass for English had been specified by them.

Any experience had not been asked by them.

The interview had already been started by them.

The above sentences are written in

Passive Voice

Passive form is used when we are interested on

what had happened or to whom it had happened

Look at how the passive voice is formed

He                                                                                                           told

This advertisement                                                                             seen

Hardworking and talented young people had been                  invited

An A pass for English                               had not been              specified

Any experience                                                                                   asked

The interview                                                                                       started

In Passive

 the doer of the action

is  not important or we are not interested about

 therefore

 the receiver of the action

becomes

 the subject

 of the passive sentence

When forming passive sentences in the past perfect tense following structure is used

Subject+ had been+ verb past participle + agent +adverbial

This advertisement had been seen by her father in the morning.

When forming Negative sentences

Subject+ had not been+ verb past participle + agent +adverbial
